This is not medical advice.
Hopefully you missed this story, for your own sanity. I’ll summarize the debate.
Elon Musk is in favor of making weight loss drugs more affordable and available to the masses.
RFK, Jr. is not. He thinks this is the wrong way to look at the problem. He advocates that we eat more healthy and add some exercise.
Whoopi Goldberg thinks that’s fat shaming, and the drugs should be more affordable.
I’m in the RFK camp on this one. I see Elon’s perspective about the future/bio engineering/anything is possible with technology narrative.
But there is a balance or homeostasis with the body. Sometimes if we mess with that, we make things worse.
We just finished punishing the pharmaceutical industry for opioids. The covid vaccine was claimed to be “100% safe and effective.”
Don’t we already know this story and how it plays out? Fast forward 20 years. Twenty million people will take these weight loss drugs. Some people are successful. About a million have serious side effects and/or their metabolism is so screwed up, they gain back all the weight. There are massive lawsuits and hearings in congress. “We were deceived! We didn’t know!”
We’ve sued cigarette companies. Really?! I know most of it was about hidden addictiveness, but we didn't know it was bad for us?
The rumor in the skiing industry is that you can ski mostly where you want in Europe. They don’t rope off areas. It’s at your own risk, and you can’t sue like we do in Team America.
They expect you to use your brain and take some responsibility for your own actions.
And there you have it.
