No, I haven’t been doing hallucinogens (anymore). But there is something I’ve witnessed that kinda freaks me out, and has allowed me to see how others (may) have seen ghosts.
There is this street light that’s about 200 yards from my house, shown in the picture below. Normally the light is only facing downward, the upward light pictured below was caused by fog.
I’ve been looking at that light for about 15 years now, to see if it is snowing in the winter. I can see when snow is falling just under that street lamp.
Only problem is, I even see snow falling under that lamp when it’s not snowing. My mind is “playing tricks on me,” and it looks like very tiny snowflakes are falling.
Why does this happen? Is there are psychosomatic connection?
I’m not a huge believer in ghost sightings, but suggestion can be very powerful.
Ft Stanton ghost tour
Our local paranormal society puts on a Halloween tour of an abandoned hospital on the museum grounds of Fort Stanton. The “spectral evidence” before the tour is pretty weak. Globes on film, and voices in static. I didn’t see or hear either.
However, when you are taken upstairs into the hospital for an hour, by candle light, and hear all the stories about ghosts haunting the residents, the power of suggestion takes over.
Then they start taking about random touching, hands on shoulders, objects moving on their own, etc.
My regular readers are familiar with my obsession with the Salem witch trials. I toured those creaky houses as a kid, and can tell you first hand they are scary as shit.
Have people really seen ghosts, or are they just figments of our imagination?
Spooky science
I’m admittedly going to slaughter this explanation, so please watch the video.
Basically, Einstein was studying something called entangled particles. If you separate these particles, and test them with some stimulus, they will react equally, and at the same time, regardless of distance. I read an article where the Chinese did this and the distance was 400 miles, however the science said any distance in the universe was possible.
I’m always trying to rationalize events. I need a reason. What if there is a physical reason for “seeing” ghosts? What if there is some kind of space/time rip in the ether that allows past images?
Or maybe we’re just crazy, or easily persuaded, like my brain thinking that I see snowfall.
Happy Halloween!
